Born and raised in Bakersfield, California, Mr. Settlemire is very familiar with Kern County’s dominant industries.

Mr. Settlemire has an extensive background in the safety industry, spanning more than 15 years, and is well known among his contemporaries. He opened a safety services office in Taft for Secorp Industries (“Secorp”) in 1991, and provided steadily increasing revenue numbers for eleven years. He succeeded in generating record sales in excess $1.2 million in gross revenues for three consecutive years, beginning in 1999.

Before joining Secorp, Mr. Settlemire was an offshore medic for four years, working on Exxon’s three platforms off the coast of California. Currently, Mr. Settlemire is a member of the local safety organization, West Side Safety Group (“WSSG”). To his credit, he has developed Respiratory Protection programs for such notable companies as the West Kern Water District, and Berry Petroleum.
